Fee Policy

This policy outlines the fees that may apply to transactions conducted through EZ Boat's platform. EZ Boat reserves the right to modify these fees at any time. The presence or absence of a fee does not constitute a waiver of EZ Boat’s right to impose or enforce it in the future. All fees listed here are subject to change.

Rental Fees

  • Definition: The rental price set by the boat owner, listed on the platform, and agreed upon by the renter. This serves as the base price for the transaction.

Platform Service Fees

  • Description: A service fee is added to each booking to cover platform maintenance, customer support, and operational expenses.
  • Application: This fee is non-refundable and calculated as a percentage of the rental price before any discounts or promotions are applied.

Owner Earnings

  • Earnings Share: Owners receive between 65% and 90% of the total rental price, depending on factors such as vessel type, services provided, and platform agreements.
  • Deductions: Applicable fees, including insurance and service charges, are subtracted before payouts.

Payment Processing Fees

  • Purpose: Applied to any additional charges processed through EZ Boat, such as fuel, damage claims, or other incidentals.
  • Rate: A standard processing fee of 3% + $0.15 per transaction is applied.

Administrative Fees

  • Circumstances: Administrative fees may apply to specific issues, including disputes, failed payments, or processing late fees.
  • Fee: Up to $30, depending on the nature of the issue.

Late Fees

  • Renter Late Return: If a renter fails to return the vessel on time:
    • A one-time administrative fee of $30 will be applied.
    • An hourly prorated charge based on the daily rental rate will be added.
    • Additional insurance costs may apply.
  • Late Arrival: Renters arriving late to the scheduled start time may also incur late fees based on the delay's impact on the booking.

Owner No-Show or Vessel Issues

  • Owner Responsibility: If an owner fails to make the boat available at the agreed-upon time or if the vessel is in unacceptable condition:
    • EZ Boat may treat this as an owner cancellation.
    • A penalty fee of up to $100 may apply.

Renter No-Show

  • Definition: If a renter fails to arrive within one hour of the agreed start time:
    • The owner may cancel the booking.
    • The cancellation will be subject to the renter's agreement with EZ Boat’s cancellation policy.

Fuel Replacement Fees

  • Policy: If the renter does not adhere to the owner’s fuel policy, they will be charged for the cost of refueling, along with an administrative fee of $30.

Security Deposits

  • Standard Deposit: A minimum deposit of $500 is required for all bookings.
  • Custom Deposits: Owners may request a higher deposit based on the vessel or rental terms.
  • Release Timing: Deposits will be held for up to 72 hours after the rental period ends, provided no claims are filed.
  • Claims: In the event of a dispute, the deposit will be held until the issue is resolved. Any unused portions will be refunded.

Chargebacks

  • Fee: A $15 fee will be applied for chargebacks.
  • Owner Accountability: Owners are fully responsible for disputes related to chargebacks. Funds may be withheld until the chargeback is resolved. If resolved in the renter's favor, the owner may forfeit the disputed amount.
